Our experience in veneering

Wood veneering is the process of applying a thin layer of decorative wood to a base material (like plywood or MDF) and in most cases allows you to get a consistent pattern and colour.
Having over 40 years of current experience, we pride ourselves on our quality and approach. All our veneers our hand selected by our team to ensure the veneer meets the standards we set ourselves – if you have a project where the devil is in the detail, we encourage you to come along and select with us!

What is Veneer?

A veneer is a thin slice of wood (usually around 1/32″ thick or thinner) that’s cut from a larger log. Think of it like peeling a really thin sheet of wood from a log, like peeling a layer of bark off a tree.

Why Use Veneer?

Veneering helps make furniture, cabinets, or panels look like they’re made of solid wood. Veneering is a good option for stability as the base material gives added durability as opposed to solid wood which is more susceptible to moisture.

How Does it Work?

The veneer gets glued onto a flat surface (like a plywood board). Heated in our presses and then sanded to desired finish.
